MOTHER'S DAY 2009

Mother's Day dawned Sunny and moderately warm. I got up early and dipped fortune cookies in melted chocolate and wrote a note to go with them. These were gifts for our YW to give to their mothers for Mother's Day. The note said "I AM SO "FORTUNE"-ATE TO HAVE YOU FOR MY MOTHER!!!". Then I got ready for church. The speakers in Sacrament were really good. We had a young man who spoke about how greatful he was to have a good mother who loves and takes care of him and his siblings. The next speaker was a single sister who talked about her dear mother who has been such a good example to her. Her mother took care of her mother, her ailing grandfather and then the sister's ailing father. She also talked about the Family Proclamation. The last speaker was a mother of three children. She spoke of mothers and families. She talked about the relationship we have with Heavenly Father and what he wants mothers and fathers to teach their families. She also talked about what we can learn about Heavenly Father and what he wants us to learn, It was one of the best Mother's Day Sacrament Meetings-no self imposed guilt session. For the gift were given a CD by Lyle Hadlock--"We Ever Pray For Thee". I love the gift.
Later we went to my parents home for visiting and strawberry shortcake and ice cream. It was so nice to see my brothers and sister and spouses. Sean and Staci their spouses and children came also. There were also numerous nieces and nephews.
